How every review works

Every review follows the same rules, every time.

• I buy or borrow it — no vendor scripts. Paid for or sent to me, doesn't matter. No brand gets a say in what I say on camera.
• I use it daily before I say anything. First impressions go in the unboxing. The real verdict comes after the honeymoon period wears off.
• Side-by-sides only when they matter. Comparisons happen when they actually help you decide — not just to pad a video.

How the written reviews work

The 6 written reviews on this site aren't transcripts of the videos and they aren't written from a spec sheet. Each one covers a product I filmed myself, and links out to that video so you can watch it being used rather than take my word for it.

• Nothing is invented to fill a gap. Every review opens with a “tested context” block that says plainly what I did and did not put the product through — if I never tested it on carpet, never ran it for six months, or don't own the platform it integrates with, that's stated rather than guessed around.
• The score is my judgement, not a calculation. Single-product reviews carry a score out of 5, set from the same hands-on session the verdict came from. No formula, no averaging of other people's reviews. Comparisons and roundups carry no score at all, because one number can't stand for two or three different products.
• Prices are what I actually saw, on a stated date. They go out of date fast, so any review quoting one says when it was checked.
• Photos are mine. Every image is credited on the page it appears on, and anything I didn't shoot is named as such.
• Corrections are made in public. If I get something wrong, tell me at hello@techwithrr.com — it gets fixed on the page, not quietly deleted.

How this site makes money

Some reviews link to where you can buy the product, and some of those links pay a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. The links go on after the review is written, so they can't change a verdict — and a fair number of these reviews end with me telling you not to buy the thing. Working with brands
